Terms of Service
These terms cover residential trash cart cleaning by SparkBin. Booking a service means you agree to them. They are short on purpose.
1. What we do
We wash, sanitize and deodorize residential trash, recycling and yard waste carts at your curb, on the day your city empties them. We use pressurized water heated to roughly 200°F and a biodegradable cleaning solution. We clean the inside, the outside, the lid and the rim, and we set the cart back where we found it.
We serve houses in Wentzville, O'Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters and Lake Saint Louis. We do not service commercial dumpsters, because chasing them across the county breaks the route and makes the residential service worse.
Where the water goes
We want to be straight about this, because some services in this industry claim otherwise. Our unit does not capture or haul away the wash water. The water used to clean your cart stays where the cart is washed. We use as little as the job needs and a biodegradable solution, but we are not going to tell you we take the water with us, because we do not.
2. What we need from you
- Leave the cart at the curb on your normal collection day, the same as always. We come after the truck.
- The cart must be empty. If the city did not empty it, we cannot wash it.
- Clear access. If a car, a locked gate, or a dog blocks the cart, we cannot reach it.
If we arrive and cannot service the cart for any of the above, we count it as a completed visit for that cycle. We will text or call you the same day to tell you what happened, and if it was our mistake, we come back at no charge.
3. Prices and billing
- One-time visit — $35 for the first cart, $20 for each additional cart, billed once.
- Monthly — $20 per cart, $15 for each additional cart, billed monthly, twelve cleanings a year.
- Quarterly — $28 per cart, $21 for each additional cart, billed quarterly, four cleanings a year.
Prices are per cart and do not include tax where tax applies. Extra carts cost less than the first because the expensive part of a visit is the drive, not the wash.
We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase, and you can cancel in that window without penalty.
4. No contract
There is no term commitment, no sign-up fee and no cancellation fee. Cancel any time by phone or email. Cancellations take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not prorate a partial month or quarter, and we do not charge you for anything after it.
5. Weather and missed visits
We do not wash carts when the temperature is at or below freezing, because the water turns your cart and your driveway into a hazard. If weather or a mechanical problem makes us miss your day, we service you on the next available route day and no extra charge applies. If we cannot reach you within that billing period, we credit that visit.
6. Condition of your cart
Trash carts live outdoors and take abuse from the collection truck. We clean them; we do not repair them. Cracks, faded plastic, broken hinges, missing wheels and warping that existed before we arrived stay after we leave, and washing may make an existing crack easier to see.
If we damage your cart, tell us within 7 days and we will repair it, replace it, or pay the city's replacement fee, whichever you prefer. Our responsibility for any single claim is limited to the cost of replacing the cart. In most cases the cart belongs to the city, not to you, and replacement runs through them.
7. Photos
We may photograph carts before and after cleaning to document our work. We will not publish a photo that shows your house number, your license plate or anything else that identifies you without asking you first.
8. Payment
Payment is due when service is rendered, through the payment method on file. If a payment fails, we will let you know and pause service until it is resolved. We do not store your full card number; our payment processor handles it directly.
9. Ending service
You can cancel at any time, as described above. We may end service if payment stays unresolved, if the cart is repeatedly unreachable, or if our crew is treated in a way no one should be treated at work. We will tell you why, and refund anything you paid for service not yet delivered.
10. Limits
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond what section 6 says about carts, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability for injury caused by our negligence, and nothing here takes away rights Missouri law gives you as a consumer.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts of St. Charles County, Missouri.
12. Changes
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and tell active customers before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with a change, cancel and you will not be charged again.
